The playground of untruth

Nothing that I write is authentic. It is the stuff of dreams, not reality. Artists, in my experience, have very little centre. They fake. They are not the real thing.

Quite right. We make things up, we lie – that’s what “fiction” means. The challenge is to make our lies plausible. Or at least interesting.
