Friday Mars blog: Talk about having patience

The coincidence of life both on Earth and on Mars would raise big questions. Is life therefore common in the galaxy? Had one of Mars and Earth seeded the other somehow? If so, which way round? Had both been seeded by a third source (panspermia)? It’s too early to begin to answer these questions – they haven’t established there even is life on Mars yet, although it’s looking more likely every month – but, dammit, they’re the questions everyone has bubbling away on their back burner.
